GCCL Bucs Power Past CV Baseball in 10-2 Victory



The GCCL Bucs put on an impressive display of dominance as they faced off against CV Baseball at Stengel Field in Glendale on Wednesday, July 5th at 5pm. With a record of 5-9 and a four-game losing streak, the Bucs were hungry for a win in this 7-inning matchup.


From the first pitch, the Bucs showcased their offensive ability, scoring two runs in the opening inning. Ryder Edwards led the charge with three hits, two runs, and two RBIs, including two stolen bases. Gabriel Gonzales and Kai Hershberger also contributed with strong plate performances, contributing multiple hits and runs, including Hershberger's strong triple. Jorge Zemeno displayed his instinct on the base-paths, stealing two bases while adding two hits and a run.


Not to be outdone, the Bucs' pitching staff delivered a solid performance. Evan Saito took the mound and pitched three impressive innings, allowing only one hit and one run while striking out three batters. The team's cohesive play and strategic execution kept CV Baseball at bay, limiting them to just two runs on four hits.


The Bucs dominated all facets of the game, showcasing their offensive firepower with 10 runs on 12 hits. In addition, they maintained a flawless defense with no errors. The team's exceptional performance left CV Baseball stunned, struggling to keep up with the Bucs' relentless attack. Notably, Gabriel Gonzales alone amassed the same number of total bases as the entire CV Baseball team.


The game unfolded with the Bucs maintaining control from start to finish. They capitalized on scoring opportunities, including a pivotal three-run surge in the sixth inning to secure a comfortable 10-2 lead. CV Baseball's comeback attempts were stifled by the Bucs' solid defense, ultimately sealing the victory.


With this impressive win, the Bucs reset their losing streak and improved their record to 6-9 for the season. The team's confidence and momentum will be crucial as they continue to succeed in future games.


Next up for the Bucs is a matchup against the Malibu Marlins on Friday, July 7th at 4pm, at Los Angeles Valley College. Fans can expect another exciting showdown as the team aims to build on their recent victory and continue their climb up the standings.
