The Oaks took an early lead by scoring two runs in the second inning. The Pirates fought back, tying the game at 2-2 in the fourth inning after Aidan Jbarra's timely single drove in two runners. In the fifth inning, the Pirates surged ahead with another run. However, defensive miscues allowed the Oaks to respond with three runs in the bottom half, reclaiming the lead at 5-3.

Both teams exchanged runs in the seventh inning, maintaining a close contest with a score of 6-4. The Oaks widened the gap with two more runs in the eighth, extending their lead to 8-4.
