The Pro-Am Bucs faced off against the Biscuits in an exciting two-game series. With both games held at Los Angeles Valley College, the Bucs were eager to turn the tables after previously losing two games to the Biscuits. This series held significant importance for the Bucs, as they aimed to extend their impressive 18-5 record and build on their six-game win streak.
Game 1
The first game, held on Tuesday July 11th, saw the Pro-Am Bucs win 5-4. Matthew Leiterman displayed his prowess in an outstanding performance, contributing three hits, three runs, and an RBI. His remarkable hitting showcased a double, triple, and home run, falling just one hit short of the elusive cycle.
The pitching duo of Matthew Leiterman and Brodie Romero combined their efforts to keep the Biscuits at bay. Leiterman threw five innings, striking out two but issuing seven walks, conceding a home run in the process. Romero took over, pitching four innings and striking out five while walking six. Together, their efforts helped secure the Bucs' narrow victory.
In a high-octane game, the Bucs took an early lead, scoring three runs in the first inning. Although the Biscuits responded with two runs in the third inning, the Bucs matched it with one run of their own. The game remained tense, with both teams adding more runs. Ultimately, the Bucs held off the Biscuits' late surge, clinching the victory 5-4.
Game 2
The second game, held on Thursday July 13th, proved to be an intense battle between the two teams. In a dramatic comeback, the Pro-Am Bucs triumphed over the Biscuits with a close 9-8 scoreline.
Carson Panarisi was the star of the show for the Bucs. He delivered an impressive performance with three hits, three runs, and three RBIs, including a powerful home run. Brandon Whiting also performed well with two hits and three RBIs. Together they combined for 6 of the team's 9 RBIs.
Collin Bell's impressive pitching performance secured the Bucs' win. He pitched three innings, striking out three while allowing just one hit.
The Biscuits stormed into the game with an early lead, scoring one run in the first inning and an astounding six runs in the third inning. This gave them a commanding 7-0 lead. However, the Bucs refused to back down and fought back with four runs in the 4th inning. The Biscuits responded with another run, maintaining their 8-4 advantage.
In a thrilling turn of events, the Bucs mounted a remarkable comeback, scoring two runs in the 6th inning and three runs in the pivotal 8th inning, capturing the lead for the first time in the game at 9-8. The game concluded with the Bucs winning 9-8 after an astonishing comeback.
The Pro-Am Bucs swept the series, winning both games against the Biscuits. The first game ended 5-4 for the Bucs, while the second game concluded with a close 9-8 scoreline.
With this impressive series performance, the Pro-Am Bucs now boast an impressive 20-5 record this season. The series sweep has boosted their confidence and solidified their position as strong contenders in the league.
